Voodoo was a blast Sunday night. Saw lots of old faces and re-hooked with some old friends. There is something very surreal about watching Denis Rodman on stage with an old drag queen getting woman from the audience to get on stage and show off their tits.
Damn... the older you get the more people around die. My friend Bill came by today and gave me his Blue and Gold Macaw and his Hyacinth Macaw. He is heading over to the Bahamas for experimentally cancer therapy and does hope to get better but he has lung cancer that has spread through his body and has been given only months to live. He insisted on giving me something for taking care of his birds but also told me that if he doesn't make it that he grateful to have found them a good home. I've been wanting to get my Blue and Gold some companionship but getting birds like this is bitter sweet.
Did the gym thing this morning and then headed on down to South Beach to take care of some biz with Ana. It's been awhile since I've visited her so we had lots to catchup on. She took my over to Planet Sushi which turned out to be a nice treat. The food was great in a very South Beach setting. There are flat screens on the walls showing your food being made which was kind of kewl.
