We gave up trying to put a tree up this year. Every time we went over to pick up a tree something came up and we had to put it off or it was pouring rain or the tree places were closed and now it is so close to Christmas that it seems pointless but we did put up some lame decorations last night in the front yard.
At least did something holiday-ish. We walked over, sat on the docks up the street from us, and watched the boat parade with all of the boats covered in lights along with a barge shooting off fireworks. We spent more time walking to and from it then actually watching it. There wasn't a lot of boats this year and we were freezing our asses off sitting on the dock in the wind. The huge almost full moon peaking in and out of the clouds was actually the most interesting sight.
It seems the holidays this year are mostly a bust. I guess it is due to the recession killing the holiday spirit this year. On a personally level this would probably be the first year that I truly have a happy home life and was actually really looking forward to them.
We got home and watched a movie called Shall We Dance that we both thought was very cute and enjoyable.
Tomorrow we have a big not so exciting day of house cleaning planned. With both of us working so much the house has really become in need of a deep cleaning.
